Deep Cleaning vs Regular Cleaning: Which to Choose

How deep cleaning differs from regular cleaning, when you need each one and how often to book them so your apartment stays clean all year.

The two most popular types of apartment cleaning sound alike but do different jobs. Regular cleaning keeps a home clean; deep cleaning brings it back. Here is how they differ, what they cost and how to combine them.

Regular cleaning: keeping it clean

This is the cleaning for an apartment that is already tidy, while everyday life keeps happening: dust on the shelves, marks on the floor, splashes in the kitchen and the bathroom. We go through every room, wipe the reachable surfaces, vacuum and mop the floors and tidy the kitchen and the bathroom.

People usually book regular cleaning on a schedule: once a week or every two weeks. A one-room apartment up to 45 m² starts from 16,000 ֏, a two-room one up to 70 m² from 22,000 ֏, and a three-room one up to 100 m² from 28,000 ֏.

Deep cleaning: bringing the shine back

Deep cleaning is detailed work. On top of everything in a regular clean, we:

  • scrub the kitchen and bathroom tiles, removing grease and limescale;
  • wash doors, door frames, handles and light switches;
  • wipe radiators, window sills and skirting boards;
  • dust the tops of wardrobes and the reachable light fittings;
  • wash the floors, including under furniture that can be moved.

People book it before holidays and guests, when moving in or out, in spring and autumn, or when regular cleaning has been skipped for a long time. It costs from 42,000 ֏ for a one-room, 55,000 ֏ for a two-room and 72,000 ֏ for a three-room apartment. Your first deep clean comes with a 10% discount.

How to tell which one you need

Ask yourself three questions:

  • When did the apartment last have a thorough clean? If it was a while ago, start with a deep clean.
  • Is there grease on the kitchen backsplash or limescale in the bathroom? A regular clean won’t remove it. That is a job for a deep clean.
  • Do you just want the place fresh for the weekend? A regular clean is enough.

Deep cleaning costs more because it takes noticeably longer. That is exactly why it pays not to let the apartment get to the point where nothing else will do.

The best routine: one deep clean, then regular visits

The easiest approach is to start with a deep clean and then keep things in order with regular cleaning. Repeat the deep clean a couple of times a year, in spring and autumn, for example. The apartment stays clean all the time, and the hardest work never piles up.

Extras for any cleaning

Both types can include the inside of the fridge (3,500 ֏), the oven (3,500 ֏), kitchen cabinets inside (3,800 ֏) and the balcony (from 4,500 ֏). Windows and upholstery cleaning are priced separately. Questions on this topic

What is the difference between deep and regular cleaning?

Regular cleaning maintains order: dust, floors, the kitchen and the bathroom. Deep cleaning goes further: tiles, doors, radiators, skirting boards, grease and limescale.

Which one should I start with if the apartment hasn't been cleaned in a while?

Start with a deep clean. After that, regular cleaning keeps the apartment in shape with little effort.

Are windows included in a deep clean?

Windows are a separate service with their own prices: a standard single-sash window starts from 2,200 ֏.

Is there a discount on deep cleaning?

Yes, your first deep clean is 10% off the cleaning itself.
