Two halves of one district
Kanaker is one of the old settlements that became part of Yerevan: houses of stone and tuff, yards with vines and fruit trees, streets that climb up the hillside. Zeytun, named in memory of a town in Cilicia, is an area of high-rise blocks with standard flats, schools and markets. New residential buildings are also going up in the district, so many flats here have just had their renovation finished.
What residents need
In Kanaker’s private houses cleaning takes longer: several rooms on different levels, stairs, verandas and sometimes basement kitchens. Deep cleaning here is best planned by season, with the living rooms kept tidy in between.
