What makes the centre different
Kentron was built in layers. Old houses of pink and grey tuff with high ceilings and wooden windows stand next to mid-century buildings and the modern complexes of Northern Avenue. The old Kond quarter keeps its narrow lanes and private houses. Many flats in the centre are let to tourists by the night, and the lower floors are taken by offices, cafés, bars and shops.
